"A bridge I cross everyday to get to campus"  Inside joke… you probably wouldn’t get it.

Not used to this size.  Big change from 30 max people at Marist.

Top holds 270 seats.

Bottom holds 110 seats.

A day time aerial shot of the coast line.  Probably one of the more popular pictures you’ll find when you Google it.

My favorite building in the whole city is the one with the red light.  I didn’t take this picture, but I thought it was awesome.  The area is “Surfer’s Paradise.”  It’s the touristy area.  Bars, Clubs, Pubs, and restaurants are all in that area.

Day 16 (7/29)

Ate steak again since it’s Sunday.  I know I can’t believe it either… something besides chicken?! But you can’t pass up a $2 dinner.  that’s just absurd.  It ended up costing me $12 because I got 3 steaks and 3 orders of fries.  But before dinner, I did yoga with a couple friends.  It was pretty relaxing.  Almost fell asleep at the end of it.  It leaves your muscles very relaxed.  It’s like a “Gumby” feeling haha.

Skyped with Marcos and Gabriella at the same time.  Then my dad and Theresa caught me on there before going to bed.  It was nice talking to them… I haven’t gotten a chance to talk to anyone from home yet really except once when I talked to my mom.

It’s 1:30am…. Class tomorrow morning in 7 hours…. not happy about it.  Goodnight

Saw this on the GUV (where I live) facebook group page.  I’m not sure if it’s real or not, but I found it funny.  According to NBC I’m in Central Europe.

Some giant spider thing I found on my balcony.  Debated on letting it bite me hoping to turn into Spiderman.  Decided against it because I thought “Hey, that’s just a movie.  It MIGHT not be true….”

Day 14

I just finalized my schedule (should be) and I’m so happy.  Tuesdays aren’t going to be fun, but the rest of the week should be a breeze.  The only problem is only 3 classes will count towards my degree out of the 4 I’m taking.  It was either that, or bring back 4 bad grades that count.  I think this way will work out the best for me though.

I’m taking Botany & Zoology; Intro to Music Programming and Production; Australian Literature and History; and Intro to Marketing.  I’m still waiting on the Marketing verdict to come back if it will count or not, but from what the professor at Marist is saying, it sounds like it should be good.

Day 13 (7/26)

I’ve been stuck on this island for 13 days now.  Food is running low, our fire went out, and I’m actually debating on eating one of my housemates…

Nah I’m just kidding.  Loving it so far here.  About to go to my last class of the week and figured I’d pass the time by writing a journal entry.  It’s going to be a rough class, but worse things have happened haha.  Currently signed up for 5 classes, it’s recommended to take no more than 4.  I want to sign up for 2 more.  If I did my basic elementary school math correct (and to save you time), that 7 classes and then I have to drop 3 of them.  Although, I’m going to see if 5 will be possible, because there’s this one class called “Intro to Music Program and Production.“  You get to make music and stuff and it looks like it is a super laid back class and stuff, so I may just pick that class up for fun if I have time.  It would be so cool to be able to make my own song.

I noticed that it is not a touristy place here.  I don’t see a bunch of little shops selling Gold Coast trinkets and stuff.  Which is good and bad.  Good because I feel like I’m actually living in the area and not on vacation.  Bad because I can’t buy the trinkets and gizmos I wanted to.  Can’t win ‘em all though, right?

Well, class time.  Catch ya later dudes and dudets!

If You Need Some Help/Tips

HOW TO USE THIS BLOG:  The main thing is to enjoy… pretty simple.  The most recent posts are at the top, and get older as you go down.  If you look in the top right of the page, you will see “Pictures” “Videos” and “Journals”.  Click one of the words and it narrows down the page to only show the one you selected.  To go back to the normal viewing hit the title in orange.  It’s currently “SURF’S UP”.

Day 10 - First day of classes and grocery shopping.

A quick tour of my house.  Nothing special.
